Did you know that Vietnam veterans groups clean the wall and pathway at the Vietnam Memorial every Saturday? They do! On the anniversary of D-Day this year, 2015, QoV joined them as part of a QOV event. The South Carolina QOV group came up to present 30 Quilts of Valor to a group of Vietnam Veterans. Walt Davis, acting Chairman of the Board for Quilts of Valor, was also present. It was very moving, not only to participate in the cleaning of the wall but also to help present quilts to this group. Here are some pictures of the event.

Quilts of Valor San Diego, North County had a booth and information display at the 2014 San Diego Quilt Show September 4th, 5th, and 6th at the San Diego Downtown Convention Center. The image below is our display at booth #633.

Who are we and what do we do?

We are a small group of quilters in the North County area of San Diego. We meet regularly to make quilts for presentation to service members, veterans, or others who have been touched in some way by war. Combat warriors from any conflict merit a healing and comforting Quilt of Valor. We present these quilts in loving appreciation for their service to our country.

We are affiliated with a national non-profit grassroots organization called the Quilts of Valor Foundation (QoVF). Click here for the background of QoVF. Click here to go to the web site of the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

Our group meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Ed Brown Senior Center (Room 2), 18402 West Bernardo Drive in Rancho Bernardo, from 10:00AM until 4:00 PM. The road leading to the Ed Brown Center goes South from West Bernardo Drive across from the entrance to Casa De Las Companas. Drive past the Glassman Recreation Center until you see the blue canopy over the entrance to the Ed Brown Center. Please bring your machine, your enthusiasm for our cause, a sack lunch, and come join us.

A gallery of photographs of the Quilts of Valor that our Group has created for presentation to our Combat Warriors or on their behalf to others who have been touched by war is now available. Click here to visit the Gallery page.
